"Sonic and the Mystic Mage"

Chapter 19


"[sighs] At last, it's the weekend!" Miia says as she stretches her arms. She then looked out the window above her bed. "Not to mention that today's Shinku's birthday today!" she added.

"That's your cousin's name, Shinku?" Sonic asked as he was sitting up in his cot.

Miia turned then scooted near the edge of her bed. "Yeah, it said so in the invite," she confirmed.

Sonic got up from his cot and put on his socks and shoes. "I know it really isn't any of my business," he said as he is doing some squats. "But I checked your calendar last night, and it said, in kanji letters plus red marker..." He stopped squatting. "Something..."

"Oh, that just says 'summer vacation; two weeks ahead'," said Miia as she got up from her bed.

"Oh, right," Sonic said as he continued squatting. "Couldn't understand it, thank you."

Miia got out of her bed and walked to her cherry dresser and got out her pink- and blue striped bikini. Sonic, upon seeing this, smirked and asked, "You're not gonna wear that under your clothes, are ya??"

"Absolutely not!" Miia said, taking the offense, even though the last several times that she went to the beach or the pool with her friends, she always wears her bikini under her clothes; and even though her mother often nags her about, Miia still does it, because she just does. "I just wanted to get an early start," she said finally, calming down. "Because Shinku's party is only two hours away, and..."

Sonic finished his squats. "I know, I know." Then he went out of Miia's room so that Miia can dress herself. She took one hard look at her bikini and thought, Ah, who cares? I'm gonna wear it under my clothes anyway. Though either Mom or Dad will have to search me to see if I am wearing a bikini under my clothes... Just then Miia had an idea. No, they won't! I'll just wear a regular bra and underwear on top of my bikini, so that they won't even notice. Yeah, that'll work, I'll do just that!

Meanwhile, Sonic is waiting outside of Miia's room, sitting with his back to the wall, his right leg on top of his left, and with his arms behind his head. He may seem happy, but inside, he was thinking about last night when he was talking with Amy. Granted, that he is disappointed in her for lying to Miia, but at the same time, he is also flattered that he even stood up to her; though the only times that he stood up for anybody are when people are teasing someone, or when he was protecting someone, but never acted stern towards somebody just because Amy, in his case, told a lie to someone, especially when they have just met. But he was happy that Amy apologized for glomping on him while she was naked, and that he invited her to Miia's cousin's beach party. Not only that, but Sonic is also proud for Miia for saving Amy from the men who tried to rape her, gave her a clean shower, even guided her to Tails' house, where she could stay until they get back to their home planet.

Sonic's ear then twitched cutely when Miia opened her bedroom door; he got up and scanned her thoroughly. Miia is wearing a white tank with a black and pink Hello Kitty Jolly Roger tee, and under it read, "Hello Kitty: Rock on.", baby pink short shorts with diamonds on one leg placed together to form a butterfly, white socks, dark pink, regular pink, and black speed lace shoes, and as usual, she is wearing her magic amulet. Sonic then looked at her face and hair. He could see that she isn't even wearing punk makeup, nor that she is wearing artificial hair strands, even when she is wearing her Japan-style ponytail. He is now puzzled when he sees this. Her clothes I get, he thought. But her face... and her hair... how come these are isolated from what she is wearing??

Miia went downstairs to the kitchen, and Sonic followed her as well. When the two arrived, Mayaan was serving some pancakes, whilst Fumio, Miia's father, is drinking some coffee. "Morning, Mom, Dad," Miia greeted her parents with a warm smile.

"Good morning, you two," said Mayaan put a plate of three pancakes at Miia's place. "You two had a good sleep?"

"We slept fine, Mom," said Miia, smiling as she sat down. "So, your project's all finished, Dad?" She glanced at Fumio.

"Almost, hon," Fumio answered as he sipped his coffee. "We still need the interior finished, such as which paint colors to use for each room and all."

"Oh. Well, when it's done can you please show me a few pictures of it?"

"Of course I will, Miia."

"Okay!" Miia's smile grew a little bigger.

Sonic glanced at Miia while he sat upon the two books (which have been put for him since his height is above Miia's thighs). In his mind, he envisioned Miia as a little girl wearing a pink jumper, a white shirt, white lace socks and white Mary Jane shoes. However, his trance broke when the smell of the pancakes entered his nostrils.

"Here are your pancakes, Sonic," said Mayaan, who gave the pancakes to Sonic.

"Oh, thanks," Sonic replied.

"So, Dad," Miia started to say as she took a bite out of one of her pancakes. "When do you leave for work?"

Fumio looked at his wristwatch. "In about ten minutes," he answered. "Maybe less."

Miia smiled as she took another bite of her pancakes. "Well, then I guess I would show you the pictures when Sonic and I get home from the party. Also, I think you should leave right now because I just wanted you to get an early start."

"Miia, you're behaving like your mother," Mayaan warned her daughter playfully.

"So?" said Miia. "I couldn't help but behave like you."

That surprised Sonic slightly as he took a fairly large bite of his pancakes, yet he swallowed that bite as strongly as the muscles in his esophagus could handle without choking. After that, he gasped slightly.

"Sonic, are you all right?" Mayaan noticed Sonic gasping as she finished her first pancake.

"Huh? Yeah, I'm fine," The blue hedgehog answered back shakily. "I'm just a little surprised at what you and Miia said."

"Oh, it's simply a harmless little joke," the brown-haired woman said as she ate her second pancake. "I usually play it on Miia each time she 'tries' to act like a mother." She made air quotes on "tries".

"You didn't need to rub it in, Mom," said Miia as she continued eating her pancakes.

"Wouldn't surprise you," Sonic was about to say, but he changed his mind about that and continued eating.

Fumio looked at his watch again. "But Miia is right on that. I must go now." He sipped the last of his coffee and got up from his chair. He then walked up to where his brief case is, then opened the door. "See you tonight." Then he went out.

"Bye, Dad," Miia waved as her father went out the door. After she ate the last of her pancakes, she said as she got up, "Well, I need to go prep myself for the party, and Sonic should do the same." She looked at the last pancake Sonic was going to eat. "Uh, after he's done eating. [sweat drop]" Miia then got up the stairs to go get her beach towel, sun block, plus her spare bra and underwear.

Sonic felt a little uneasy as he began eating his last pancake, but he ignored it, even though he almost choked on his bite (he swallowed it afterwards).

Mayaan seemed to notice and said, "Sonic? Dear, are you okay?"

Sonic tried his best to keep a straight face. "I-I'm fine."

"You seemed a little uneasy and stressed. Is it because of the beach party?"

"What, that?" Sonic lifted his hand then flicked it down. "Never; I never get stressed out when it comes to upcoming parties!"

Mayaan decided to dig a little deeper. "Is it because... you hate water?"

That word, plus what Mayaan asked made Sonic's heart leap up to his throat, plus made his spine shiver. He put down his head in shame. "Yes..." he reluctantly whispered.

Mayaan smiled. "That's all right. You don't have to swim; you can still have a lot of fun on the beach."

Sonic lifted his head up. "Yeah, I guess your right..." he said sheepishly. Then he quickly ate his last pancake and then got down from his chair.

"Uh, Sonic?" Mayaan stopped him.

"Huh?" Sonic turned to notice the two books he sat upon. "Oh. Right." He took the books, went to the living room and put them on the shelves. Then his thoughts went back to yesterday on what Miia said about sports that are going to be played at the beach party. Volleyball he gets, but badminton and pickle-ball? Played on the beach? Granted, he already knows what badminton is, but he doesn't honestly know what pickle-ball is.

"Okies, then!"

Sonic heard Miia come down the stairs. She's carrying a Hello Kitty patterned tote bag with a Hello Kitty charm on one of the handles, plus cupcake, heart, key, and pink Jolly Roger charms on each end of each handle. In the tote (and the only ones showing) is her beach towel plus her sun block.

Sonic walked up to Miia and said, "I thought you said the party is only a couple of hours away."

"It is." Miia looked down to Sonic straight in the eyes.

"Then why--"

"Just to get an early start," the red-haired tomboy replied simply.

Sonic wasn't entirely sure if this is a good idea or not. But seeing that there was no other choice, he shrugged. "Okay, whatever."

Miia walked to the front door and set down her tote. Then she went back to the kitchen to clean her place (and help her mother wash up the frying pan she used to make the pancakes).

"I overheard you and Sonic talking about the party," Mayaan said as she took the cooled pan over to the sink. "Why would you want to get an early start for the party?"

"The same reason for every other party," replied Miia as she put her dish in the dishwasher. "I play one and a half hours of video games, and we save another thirty minutes to drive to the beach and play a few warm-up sets of badminton with Shinku. The most obvious reason every other year."

Mayaan sighed. "Honey, there's some other things you could do in your free time besides playing video games, hon."

"There are. I often make digital drawings and colorings on my computer whilst listening to music."

Mayaan sighed again and turned on the water. Once she had the required water level, she turned it off, took the dish soap next to the sink, and squirted a small amount of the soap onto the pan. She scrubbed it thoroughly until it was completely lathered (excluding the handle). Then she handed the pan to Miia so that Miia could rinse it off. When she was done, she dried off the pan and hung it up with the other pots and pans.

"So, what should we do to make the time pass by?"

Miia turned to see Sonic standing near the living room. "Well, I really don't know..."


Sonic smirked with his arms crossed. "I think I vote to play some video games to make the time pass by!"

Miia beamed at the suggestion. "All right, we'll play for one and a half hours, because the beach is usually  around ten minutes away from this house and all..." She then walked up to the stove and set the timer to 1:30, indicating the hours and minutes, and pressed the start button. "Does 'Guilty Gear IV' sound all right to you?"

"I don't know what 'Guilty Gear' is, but yeah, it's fine by me."

"Okay, then."

Sonic and Miia walked back into the living room and Miia inserted the "Guilty Gear IV" disc in her PlayStation 2. Then she turned it on (and she turned the TV on, also) and waited for the game to load.

Mayaan walked into the living room with a slight frown on on her face. "You always play video games whenever something special comes up, Miia."

"I can't help it, Mom," Miia responded. "It usually helps me pump up for the party."

"Video games do not help you pump up for your cousin's birthday party."

"Actually, not 'pump up'; exhilirate, that's the better way to say it. (Miia is always careful on what she says)"

"Well, either way, you shouldn't play any video games to make the time pass by. Try doing something else instead, such as reading or doing your chores early, or something like that."

Miia gave an exasperated sigh. "What difference does it make if I play video games or read? They're still gonna make the time go by."

Even though Mayaan was frustrated at Miia for playing video games each time when a party or something special comes up, she finally said, "All right, but this is the last time you will be playing video games before a party; understand?"

"Yes, ma'am," Miia responded in a monotone.

"Oh, wait, I just remembered," Sonic said suddenly.

"What?"

"I remember playing this one before, except that it's a 'II', not a 'IV'."

"Well, an any rate, let's play for a little while."

"You're on!"

When the character select screen came on, Miia selected Dizzy, and Sonic selected Slayer. "So, shall we begin?"

"You're on," Miia responded.

Meanwhile, somewhere outside of Miia's house, Amy, Knuckles and Cream (and of course, Cheese) are walking down the street to Miia's house. Amy is leading the four at the time at the time; mostly to find Sonic and convince him to watch the sunset with her, so that Sonic could go "romantic" with her.

"Are you sure this is the right way, Amy?" Tails inquired.

"This is the right way," Amy responded. "Miia led me to your house in this direction, so we're going up in that direction. Call it my girlish intuition."

"Girlish intuition..." Knuckles said under his breath without any amusement in his voice.

"Besides, it's nearly time for the party to start," added Amy as she looked at her watch. "We can get an early start by picking up Miia."

"I wonder what activities and games we will be playing at Miia's cousin's beach party," said Cream with wonder in her tone, with Cheese chirping along in agreement.

"So far, only badminton and volleyball," replied Amy. "I really don't know what other sports there are..."

"Volleyball I get," said Knuckles. "But badminton...?" He thought about other girls in bikini playing badminton, but then he pushed that thought out of his head. "Beach badminton is just stupid."

"I wouldn't call that stupid, Knuckles," said Tails with common sense. "I'd call that unusual; something you don't see every day."

"There we are!" Amy said as she stopped to where Miia's house is.

Knuckles, Tails, Cream and Cheese stopped along with Amy. "So this is where Miia lives?" Cream asked curiously.

"Most likely," confirmed Amy. "Also Sonic is visiting here, as well. At least I think he is visiting; well, if he's living with her, then I'm gonna give him a pounding!"

"Let's not be hasty around here, Amy," said Tails. "Especially when we're just coming for a visit."

Amy calmed down slightly. Then she sighed. "You're right." Then she walked up the steps and rang the doorbell.

In the house, Miia and Sonic are saving the game, since they're done playing Guilty Gear. When Miia heard the doorbell, she said, "I'll get it." and then got up from the sofa to open the door. Sonic turned off the game, then the PlayStation 2 and followed her.

When Miia opened the door, Amy, Cream, Cheese, Knuckles and Tails are here. "Hi, guys! You're here to come along with us for the party, right?"

"Right!" Amy said.

Sonic came out the door to see his friends. "Hi, guys!"

Amy gave Sonic a big bear hug. "Hi, Sonic! You miss me?"

"L-lemme go, Amy!" Sonic choked.

Amy did what Sonic told. "You guys ready for the party?"

"You know we are!" Miia replied with exhileration.

Suddenly the oven timer bleeped. "I'll get it," a voice said. Miia turned around to see Mayaan turn off the oven timer.

Miia then turned halfway to pick up her Hello Kitty tote. "So, shall we get going?"

"Yeah!" Sonic and his friends say altogether.

"We'll get to the beach by car," said Mayaan. "Setting that aside..." She glanced at Cream, Cheese, Knuckles and Tails. "I trust that you are Sonic's friends?"

"Yeah," Miia replied. "Their names are Cream, Knuckles, and Kistune-chan."

"Nickname for Tails," Amy translated.

"And this is my pet Chao, Cheese," Cream introduced her pet.

Cheese flew over to Mayaan. "Chao chao," he chirped as he landed in Mayaan's cupped hands.

"Ohhhh, how adorable!" the brown-haired human said as she petted the little Chao gently with her hand.

"Uh, Mom, I think we should get ourselves moving," Miia reminded her mother.

"I haven't forgotten." Mayaan let Cheese return to Cream. "Follow us to the garage."

Sonic and the others followed both Mayaan and Miia  to the garage where Mayaan said where her car is. Mayaan turned on the light of the garage, which was the same as before except that parked in was a blood red caravan, which looked fairly new.

Sonic whistled at Mayaan's car. "Neat!"

"Have you guys ridden in a car before?" Mayaan inquired.

"Yeah, we have," Sonic replied. "But that was years ago."

"Too bad that you guys haven't even ridden in my mom's caravan before," Miia said with a slight joking tone.

"Are you sure we will fit in this caravan?" asked Tails with concern.

"I can guarantee that you six will fit in the van," Mayaan replied as she took her car keys from one of the hooks. "But only in the back, because Miia gets to sit up front, so that we could have more room."

"We understand completely!" Cream said with Cheese chirping in both agreement and confirmation.

"Good." Mayaan walked to the other side of the caravan and unlocked the door to the driver's side to open it.

"We should be getting in, too," Miia reminded the others. "I'll adjust the seats in the back for ya!" Then she walked up to the caravan and opened the slide door. She got

"Oh, good, you're adjusting the seats," Mayaan said as Miia got in. "You need any help, hon?"

"No, I think I got it," Miia replied as she separated the first two back seats and turned them around. "There." She then turned to her friends. "They're adjusted so that you guys could fit."

"But what about Cheese?" Cream asked.

"He can sit on your lap throughout as long as you hold him firmly," Miia replied.

"I promise," responded Cream.

Miia closed the slide door and went towards the passenger door so that she could get in the front seat.

"Well, what're we waiting for, guys?" Sonic asked the group. "Let's go!"

"Right!" the rest of the group said.

Sonic and his friends went in the back seats of the caravan (thus Sonic closed the slide door when they came in). After they put on their seat belts (as well as Miia), Mayaan pressed a button on her key chain remote, which activated the garage door to open, then put her car key in the keyhole*, then turned on the caravan car. Mayaan then turned to the back so that she could reverse the car out the garage. After that, the garage door closed automatically. Then Mayaan turned the car west and headed to the beach, along with Miia, Sonic and their friends.

While they were going to the beach, Miia looked out the window. Her eyes are filled with concern and worry, even though she tries not to show it. What worries her is Eggman; a few days ago last night he called her a bimbo, which aggrevated her and slammed him, his robot minions and his Egg Mobile into Denkiunagi Lake, whereas they got electricuted, even though they survived. But that's not just what worries Miia; what worries her also is that Eggman will ever come back for her to get revenge on her for doing so. She turned to the back area where Sonic and the others are talking. Miia readily understood what Sonic will say. I'll be ready for him... she thought.

It is now 11:48 when the friends arrived at the beach. Mayaan drove to an area where Miia, Sonic, Amy,Tails, Knuckles, Cream, and Cheese could get off. After Mayaan has done so, Miia walked all the way to the other side of the caravan to say good-bye to her mother.

"See ya, Mom," Miia said as she kissed her mother's lips.

"Have fun at the party," said Mayaan.

"We will." Miia got out of the way so that Mayaan could change gears in her caravan to drive out of the parking lot. Then she drove away to the main road.

"Let's go to the changing rooms," Miia suggested. "I'll show you where they are."

"Okay," Sonic said with a thumbs up. "Lead the way!"

Miia walked as her friends followed. By the time the got to the changing rooms, Sonic said, "You girls can go ahead, we'll just stay here."

"Why?" asked Knuckles. "Don't we--"

"Ahem." Sonic pointed to the sign on the right that has a female symbol above the doorway, whereas Miia, Amy and Cream entered.

"Oh." Knuckles felt himself blush slightly.

In the women's changing room, Miia, Amy, and Cream set their bags down on the bench. Once they've done so, Miia took off her tank top to reveal the first half of her pink- and blue-striped bikini, which only revealed a small strip of the bottom of her breasts.

Amy seemed to notice this and said, in a suspicious tone, "How long have you had this bikini??"

"For around 3 years," Miia replied as she took off her pink shorts. "I usually wear my clothes as long as possible, mostly to save some money on my clothing. Why do you ask?"

Amy didn't change her expression. "Just curious..." She then unzipped the collar of her halter dress and brought it down to her legs to show her dark pink tankini. She stepped out and set her dress on the bench.

After Miia took off her clothes and set them on the bench, she reached into her tote to get a hair brush and two strawberry ribbons. She set the ribbons on her clothes and untied her hair. After that, she separated her hair in half and she began brushing the two halves of her hair, one half at a time. When she was done, she held one half of her hair (on one side of her head) in place as she tied one of the ribbons into her hair. When she's done, she went through the same process with the other half of her hair. "There." She is very proud of herself of her new hairstyle.

Cream asked as she got into her bathing suit, "Do you often change your hairstyle, Miia?"

"Only when it comes to certain occasions such as swimming," replied Miia.

"Let's go into the water, then!" said Amy excitedly.

"Right!"

"Looks like you've got here first," a voice said.

Miia, Amy and Cream glanced to see who said that. "Karin! Glad to see you make it!"

Karin walked in the room. "Hey." She looked at Amy and Cream. "[scoffs] More anthropomorphic friends?"

"Now, let's not be racist," Miia warned. "They've been to this world before."

"I know that." Karin set down her bag on the bench.

"We'll be waiting for you outside," said Miia as she, Amy and Cream went out.

"Okay!"

This party will be a synch! thought Miia as she and her friends went out the changing rooms. As long as that fat man and his robots aren't around, I'm good... at least... for now...

Meanwhile, Sonic is sitting on a cliff where he previously was when he was running along the beach; also where he first met Deedee the dolphin and where he learned that he has gained a new ability. In fact, he wondered if there are other new abilities he will gain. He was staring at the view of the ocean, despite his hydrophobia, in hopes of seeing his dolphin friend again. He thought about being able to swim in the water, but he really doesn't know how out of sheer honesty. He then stood up and decided to conquer his fear again. This time, I'm gonna do it, he thought. He then looked down at the water. He felt scared inside, but he held his nose and reluctantly dove into the water. After he splashed in, he felt like he was going to drown.

Just then, a small light appeared behind the bubbles. The light approached in front of Sonic. A second later, he was able to breathe in the water as he cupped the light in his hands. What's this light? he thought. Is this what Arcadia meant when she said that she would think up a solution?

Seconds later, the light vanished, but then Sonic covered his mouth to prevent the water from coming in. Frantic, he grabbed on to a visible rock that's coming from the cliff and got up to the surface, gasping for air. "Okay, I really wasn't ready that time," he said to himself. Then he dashed to the spot where he dove in, got down to his hands and knees and shook the wetness of his fur off. He then sat down to catch his breath. "Just forget you ever did that, okay?" He got up and dashed away from the cliff.

Meanwhile, Miia was admiring the ocean and decided to relax for a while.

"Miia!"

Miia turned to see a dark green-haired boy with green eyes wearing black swim trunks. "Shinku!" Miia greeted her cousin with her arms open ready for a hug.

Shinku hugged Miia tightly as Miia returned the favor. When they're done hugging, Shinku said, "Welcome to the party!"

"Thanks!" said Miia as she kissed her cousin on the cheek. "Shinku, have you met my new friends?" Miia showed Shinku Knuckles, Tails, Cream and Amy, who is behind her at the time.

"I've heard of you guys, but I really never got to see them in person until now!" said Shinku in awe.

"Me too!" said Miia.

"Plus, I know their names, Knuckles, Tails, Cream and Amy, fighting allies of Sonic The Hedgehog!"

"Well, that's good to hear!" said Tails as he stepped up.

"So, shall we let my birthday and my grandparent's anniversary begin?" asked Shinku.

"Yeah!" Miia and her friends said with enthusiasm.

Miia then wondered where Sonic is, but before she could think, Sonic already appeared. "You'd think I'd miss out on a party?" he said with a smirk.

"Well, you're just in time, then!" replied Miia.

"And don't forget about us!"

Miia and Shinku turned around to see Karin, Sei, and Hiryu all dressed in their swimsuits.

"Glad to see you all make it!" said Shinku happily. "Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna make the announcements, mostly regarding my grandparent's anniversary and all, so, I'll be back!" Shinku then ran off in the other direction.

"We better go, too, guys," Miia said to the group.

"Right!"

Miia and her friends ran to follow Shinku to the amphitheater, then separated from Shinku to sit down on the sand while Shinku got up the stage to rejoin with his grandparents.

While on stage, Shinku stood in front of the microphone and said to the audience, "Ladies and gents, including my most loved cousin, welcome to my 19th beach birthday party plus my grandparent's 24th anniversary!"

The crowed cheered in excitement.

Shinku then continued, "To start the party/anniversary, we'll be playing beach badminton! To be honest, my cousin came up with the idea, but that's my creative cous' for ya. So right now, we will be starting off the party with beach badminton. So everyone find a partner!"

All of the people scattered about after Shinku's first announcement. Miia turned to Sonic, "Looks like I get dibs on you."

Sonic gave away a thumbs up. "Cool! I'm game!"

Miia got up. "Let's go get the rackets and the badminton."

"Okay!"

Miia and Sonic went up to the rackets rack and picked two badminton rackets and a badminton. She gave one of the rackets to Sonic. "I've played badminton before."

"Well, I've played a little..." said Sonic sheepishly.

"Then you are familiar with the rules, then?"

"Yeah, I am."

"Let's go find ourselves a volley net."

"Okay."

Miia and Sonic went to one of the nets that have already been set up, same with the others. When they arrived, they could see that Tails and Knuckles have already partnered up. "All right," Miia said. "Let's see what you're made of."

"Same to you," smirked Knuckles.

"Okay, now we let this game begin!" said Sonic with enthusiasm.

"You're on!"

Meanwhile, up in the air, Dr. Eggman, Bocoe, Decoe and Bokkun are in the Egg Mobile searching for the Chaos Emerald. "Ah, here we are," said Eggman. "The Sea of Japan. Well, the shoreline of it to be more precise.

"Are you sure this is where the Chaos Emerald is, doctor?" Decoe inquired.

"That's what Tweedledee said," Eggman replied. "And I, for one, believe her."

Just then, Eggman heard two girls, who are laughing hysterically. He glanced down to confirm his suspicions, even though even more suspicions came scattering all and about in his head. He lowered his Egg Mobile to see what the girls are laughing about.

Below, the two girls, one with short dark brown hair and wearing an apricot bikini, the other with copper hair wearing glasses and wearing a cream bathing suit, are laughing at the brown-haired girl's iPhone (the same model as Miia's but with a different color).

"Hahaha! That is really funny!" the brown-haired girl laughed. Then she noticed Eggman hovering down. "Hey, here he comes in the genuine, along with his robots! Let's get to whooping!" The girl then whooped while the other girl cheered on.

"Are they really cheering for us?" Bocoe asked.

"Looks like it," Decoe replied happily.

"Whoo-hoo! Now we got admiration!" Bokkun cheered.

"Yeah, you got admiration," the brown-haired said. "And you'll be getting more on the newest YouTube channel!"

Eggman looked at the two girls confused. "What YouTube channel?"

" 'Japan's Funniest Outdoor Accidents'," the brown-haired girl replied. "It's a channel, like other comedy channels on YouTube, that goes into the highest ranks of funny, like Chihiro from Subway."

When the girl said "outdoor", Eggman remembered a few days ago last night when he and his robot minions got electrocuted in Denkiunagi Lake. Then he said in an angry tone, "You mean to tell me that this mangy little red head recorded that humiliating video of us at Denkiunagi Lake and posted it on the Internet?!?!"

"Denkiunagi Lake??" the copper-haired girl asked. "That's yesterday's news."

"Like the Icee machine accident mishap that happened to Chihiro at Subway!" The brown-haired girl laughed again.

"And I know that this is nothing to do with what we're talking about," the copper-haired girl said as she pushed up her glasses. "But I happen to have a question to ask you."

"And what question would that be?" Eggman inquired suspiciously.

"Who are you?"

"Heads up!" Miia shouted as she slammed the badminton towards Knuckles and Tails really high.

"I got it!" Tails quickly spun his tails and slammed the badminton back to Miia and Sonic.

Sonic jumped onto Miia's head and slammed the badminton back to the other side.

"Wow, it looks like two teams are left remaining!" Shinku's grandmother said on the microphone. "Though they have been taking long, they have more endurance and this game is more entertaining other than the previous badminton games!"

"Uh!" Tails slammed the badminton back to Miia's team, Sonic slammed it back to Knuckles', on and on continuously, never running out of energy.

"Heads up!" Knuckles yelled as he slammed the badminton, but then the badminton vanished suddenly. "And it's a zinger! We score a point! So it's 5-6! Looks like we're catching up, huh?"

"Uh, wrong, your badminton racket has a hole in it after you slammed the badminton," Miia pointed out.

Knuckles lifted his racket upright and saw that Miia was right. The badminton became stuck in the newly formed hole (which Knuckles made in the process) in the net of the racket. "Oops..."

"All right! That means the score is 7-6! We won!" Sonic said excitedly.

"Oh," said Knuckles glumly. But then he realized what Sonic said. "What?!?!"

"Yeah! All right!" Miia cheered as she lifted Sonic in the air and they twirled around laughing and cheering.

"God dammit!" Knuckles threw his racket down to the sand in anger.

Tails found it amusing, even though several times before, he is often shocked that Knuckles would dare turn against them due to Eggman tricking him from time to time.

"And the winners of this game is Sonic The Hedgehog and Miia Kyouko!" Shinku's grandfather announced.

"You can put me down now, Miia!" Sonic laughed.

"Okay," Miia said as she put Sonic down to the ground. Miia was very proud of herself and Sonic for winning the game of beach badminton.

Suddenly a robot arm reached and grabbed Miia. Sonic noticed this and called out Miia's name, but it was already too late, for Miia is now in robot arm's captivity, thanks to Dr. Eggman.

"I found you at last," Eggman said coldly.

"Yeah, you're gonna regret for ever posting that humiliating video of us at Denkiunagi Lake last night!" Decoe pointed a finger a Miia.

"And you'll pay the price now!" Bocoe added.

"What humiliating video!?" Miia said as she struggled to get out of the robot hand's grip.

"Don't you play innocent with me!" Eggman shouted. "You know you did it, and now you're going to pay!"

"So?!" Miia fired back. "It served you right for calling me a bimbo in the first place!" She quickly covered her mouth with her free hands when she said that. Uh-oh. I probably shouldn't've said that...

"Hm?" Eggman thought back to last night when Miia, in her earth-stone form, slammed him, his Egg Mobile, and his robots into the lake. "Ahhh, so you're the one who slammed me into the lake, aren't you??"

Miia didn't say anything, even though she made a frown at Eggman.

"I'm most impressed at your physical strength," said Eggman. "If I hadn't known any better, I'd say that you most likely took Knuckles' form in an entirely different way." Eggman then looked at Miia's amulet. As he looked more closely, he could see only the cerulean and red-brown stones. This caught Eggman's interest. "Did you use this to gain the form I mentioned earlier?"

"I'm not telling you," said Miia as she clutched her amulet.

"Why not giving it to us for future study?"

"No, I will not let it fall into the wrong hands." What am I saying?!

"Give it to us, and your life will be spared."

"I said no," Miia said coldly. Then she put her hands on the robot hand, and suddenly, the hand and arm turned to sand, which freed Miia from its grip.

Eggman was very amazed at what Miia did, but he said. "So, you dare to defy me, do you?"

Miia simply looked up to Eggman, but with glowing red eyes instead of her blue-green. "Yes, I do."

"Miia!"

Sonic's voice made her red eyes turn back to blue-green.

Miia shook her head and turned to Sonic. "I'm all right..." she said to her friend.

"I see you leave me no choice." Eggman reached from an unknown pocket and pulled out a Mirror Beast potion that Tweedledee gave him and he threw it into the ocean.

"[scoffs] You really think that's going to destroy us?" Sonic said jokingly.

"A-ah," said Eggman. "Watch closely now."

Miia and Sonic turned to the direction where Eggman threw the potion. In the distance, Miia could see something bulging out of the ocean floor. Then suddenly, a jellyfish-like monster splashed out of the ocean.

The other people ran screaming, trying to find shelter, while Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Cream caught up to Sonic and Miia. "What the hell is that?!" Knuckles shouted.

"Amy, you take Cream to a safe place," Miia told the pink hedgehog.

"Right," Amy responded. "C'mon, Cream."

Amy ran as Cream followed her.

Miia, Tails, Knuckles and Sonic then faced the jellyfish Mirror Beast. To Sonic, how Eggman got a hold of the Mirror Beast is a mystery, but the only guess he and Miia have is that Eggman must have made a truce to the were-animals in favor of them helping each other to destroy the Mystic Mages (and of course, Sonic), and in turn, the were-animals would help Eggman build his empire.

"Say hello to one of our creations," Eggman said with a cackle. "Jelly-shocker the Mirror Beast; made possible by the were-animals!"

"You made a truce to those assholes?!" Miia asked with both anger and shock in her voice.

"Most likely," replied Decoe.

"An now you will be jelly-shocked!" Bokkun teased. "Consider this as payback for what you did to us last night!"

"After calling Miia a bimbo?" said Sonic with a smirk. "We've known ya too long to act all perverted."

"First you're an evil genius and now you're an advocate womanizer!" Knuckles giggled. "You are such a sly dog!" Then he began laughing.

Even though Miia had to agree with her friends, she felt like Eggman had sexually harassed her, even without him calling her a bimbo. She did not like being sexually harassed by somebody; in fact, whenever someone tries to sexually harass her, she would always physically fight back. Yet that thought had haunted her almost entirely, even though she often stays strong when it comes to frantic or dangerous situations such as this one.

"Oh, how really funny," said Eggman without any amusement, even with a little anger in his voice. "Jelly-shocker, drown those critters! As for the girl, bring her to the Darkus realm where she will be presented by the were-animals!"

Jelly-shocker readily understood and flinged a liquid tentacle at Sonic and Knuckles, whose laughing caught them off guard and which they are in the tentacle.

"Sonic! Knuckles!" Miia called out their names. When the tentacle went further from her, she jumped onto the tentacle and tried to save her friends, but then Jelly-shocker dove back into the ocean water, hoping that Miia, Sonic and Knuckles would drown.

In the ocean, Miia was struggling to help her friends from the tentacle of the jellyfish Mirror Beast. At last, they were freed, but they were far from the surface of the water, so the only thing that they need to do is transform in order to fight the Mirror Beast, even though Eggman will find out about their secret.

Misutikku metamorufose! Sonic and Knuckles mentally shouted at the same time as they touched their orbles (upon which they glowed and small streams of energy rushed out of them and begin to surround them).

Misutikku doressu-appu! Miia mentally shouted also as she touched the clear jem in the middle of the amulet.

Meanwhile, up on the beach, Tails, Amy and Cream are hiding behind a hut. Even though Amy is trying her best to protect the two young anthros, she wanted to help Sonic and the others somehow.

Tails, on the other hand, has his thoughts set on Sonic, Knuckles and Miia. He can only hope that they have transformed so that they could attack Jelly-shocker.

"Do you think Miia, Sonic and Knuckles are all right, Amy?" asked Cream worriedly.

"I'm sure they're all right, Cream," Tails assured his young friend.

"Well, I'm gonna take care of that Eggman!" Amy said as she pulled out her Piko Piko hammer. "I'm gonna make sure that he gets what he deserves!"

"Amy, are you sure it's necessary?" Tails asked as he tried to stop her.

Amy simply ignored him as she jumped and swung her hammer at Eggman's Egg Mobile, toppling it slightly in midair.

"Whoa-waaa!" Eggman exclaimed. He looked down at Amy with her hammer in clutched in her hands plus an angry expression on her face. "No one calls any of my friends a bimbo and gets away with it!" she shouted angrily, but then she saw Jelly-shocker getting ready to attack with the tips of its tentacles already sparkling with electricity.

Suddenly, a water tornado rose up from the surface of the water. Eggman (and Bocoe, Decoe, and Bokkun as well) and Amy all cocked their heads to this event. The tornado dispersed quickly to reveal Sonic, Knuckles, and Miia, now fully transformed and ready to battle.

Amy, Decoe, Bocoe, and Bokkun's eyes widened when they saw Sonic, Knuckles and Miia in their Mystic Mage outfits; yet more to their surprise, they're actually floating in midair!

Eggman was surprised as well, but not entirely like the others.

"What's the matter, Eggy?" Sonic said as he crossed his arms. "Never seen us Mobians as new and improved before?"

Upon hearing this, Eggman remembered Tweedledee's warning a few days before: "You're enemies are not what they appear anymore." Then he smiled evilly. "Ah, so the real Sonic The Hedgehog finally shows his true colors at last." He turned to Miia, "As well as you, young miss."

This struck Miia's nerve. "Don't you dare 'young miss' me, fatso! You're still forgetting that you called me a bimbo in the first place, so I had to record it and post it onto MySpace, to show you even more humiliation!"

"Yeah, like you're about to get even more humiliated right now!" Amy shouted as she jumped up again and rapped the Egg Mobile, sending it flying eastward. She then let out a huff as she landed perfectly on her feet. "That creep is so going to regret for calling Miia a bimbo!"

"I'll say," Sonic commented as he landed on the ground gracefully, same with Knuckles and Miia.

"Sonic!" Amy gave Sonic a tight hug, but then she smelled the sea salt coming from him, so she quickly loosened her grip (which gave Sonic enough air to breathe) and covered her nose. "Ughh, do you ndow that you sbell like sea salt?! Thend againd, what's with the kooky clothingd? And how are you able to floatdh in bidair?!"

Sonic sighed in shame. "I don't think you'd understand..."

"But now's not the time for that," said Knuckles. "Right now, we need to fight this Mirror Beast." He shot his eyes at Amy. "And I think we might need your help."

"Okay, we fight this thing, and when we're done, I need some answers to what the heck is going on, such was wearing this kooky clothing and such," Amy replied.

"Good," said Miia. "Now let's do it, to it."

Sonic, Miia, and Knuckles flew to attack Jelly-shocker, and Amy ran to the jellyfish Mirror Beast with her hammer in the air, thus slamming it in its liquid body, except that this time, pink energy emmited from the hammer, which was very effective against its body; in repsonse, Jelly-shocker roared in pain.

Sonic glanced down at Amy, noticing the pink energy emitted from her hammer each time she swings. As he looked closely, he could see her pink-fuschia orble around her neck. However, he could see that it was not activated, but he continued to fight the jellyfish Mirror Beast with his wind-sea magic, despite his concern for Amy's safety (also his seasickness)

As Amy was swinging her hammer contiuously at Jelly-shocker, what she didn't see was a free liquid tentacle that slammed her out the shallow water, thus knocking he down to the ground.

Behind the hut, Tails noticed this and ran up to Amy. "Amy, are you all right?"

Amy groaned slightly from the powerful blow she recieved. "Yeah, thanks," she replied as she got up. Then she turned around to look at the Mirror Beast. "This one's pretty tough to stop." She could see Sonic, Miia, and Knuckles using their magic to stop the monster, but so far, they had no luck.

"I don't get it," Sonic breathed. "It's as if we've made it mad each time we give it a blow." He decided to seek Queen Arcadia in his mind and tell her about the problem.

This jellyfish Mirror Beast was once a meek jellyfish before Dr. Eggman threw the potion, the blue jay queen replied.

It was? Sonic was surprised to hear that. If it's an aquatic animal, then why won't my wind-sea magic work?

Marine echolocation will not work on this one, Queen Arcadia explained. What you will need is love to cure it.

Love? Sonic was confused. Then he realized who is entirely capable of that. "Amy!"

Amy heard Sonic call her name. "What?"

"Use your orble!"

Amy looked at the crystal around her neck. "How...?"

"No time to explain, just use it to help us!"

Amy was confused on what Sonic had said, but then grasped her orble. I need to help my friends, she thought. The orble glowed pink in response to Amy's plea. Then thin streams of pink energy spread out of the orble, surrounding her, then they spread out enough to form a spinning pink energy sphere, thus trapping Amy inside it.

~~~~Mystic metaporhosis 4~~~~

*In side the sphere, Amy's orble shifts outward towards the sparkling background. Surrounding it was a ribbon of pink energy, swirling around it, then ties itself into a large bow, then disappears with hearts coming out of it.

Amy appears from the left (with her orble in her index finger and thumb). Her ivory skin has a pink tint at the time. Her clothes, one by one, disappear with hearts coming out also, leaving her in a nudity of pink tints. Shifting sideways, Amy, lightly kisses her orble, then the orble hovers upward. With that, the orble enlarges. Next to appear are two gray-pink cylinderial metal scraps with arches at the top, the connect together in the form of a heart surrounding the enlarged orble. In addition, two smaller (and thinner) cylinderial metal scraps of the same color and design appear and connect to the larger metal scraps. The last to appear (for the staff) is a light pink pole that connects to the bottom of the head, with that, pink magic symbols appearing on the pole and glowed briefly, then disappeared. This is Amy's newly formed staff.

With a ribbon of glowing pink energy swirling, Amy appears and grabs the staff with her extened left arm. Upon doing so, her white gloves and gold bracelets appear on each of her wrists; they are the same as before, except that they have glowing pink heart-shaped psychic markings on both her palms and the backs of her hands, and that there are white pink forearm gloves. Next to appear is a white pink Chinese-style dress with pink see-through lace at the bottom of the dress, also with a strawberry sash with pink hearts on each side of her hips.Then her strawberry boots appear; theyare the same as before except that the cuffs and stripe on each boot  are white pink, and they are heart-shaped. Shifting to Amy's face, head and quills, next to appear is a pink hair ribbon in her quills; attatched to it, is Mewtwo antennae, with small strawberry hearts on each end. Also to appear on Amy's ears are small loop earrings, with strawberry hearts dangling from a wire.

Shifting to Amy's back is a pink jewel appearing on her pelvis. Pink wide see-through fabric appears to make a large bow, also a Mew tail, which wagged a few times. Shifting upward, and with sparkles, angel wings grow out of Amy's back, thus flapping. Amy turns around, eyes closed, when a second jewel rams above her small breasts, thus a smaller bow, similar in color and design, extends out.*

The pink sphere disperses seconds later. Sonic, Knuckles, Miia, and Tails (and of course Cream, who was still hiding behind the hut) gasped in amazement on what Amy has already accomplished. Amy is now Mystic Amy Rose: Mystic Mage capable of love-psychic magic from all her mind, her heart, and her staff.
